The primary framing structure of a Pre-Engineered Building is an assembly of three-piece built-up structural members. These members are formed by welding together steel plates to form the I-section. The structural members are then bolted together to form the entire frame of the Pre-Engineered superstructure. Our fabricators can taper the framing members according to the local loading effects.

Other forms of primary framing include open-web trusses. Cold formed Z and C shaped secondary structural members form the secondary, acting as supporting system for the external cladding. Roll-formed profiled sheeting is often used for the external cladding of the building. To effectively design a Pre-Engineered Building, our designers and engineers consider the clear span between bearing points, bay spacing, roof slope, live loads, dead loads, collateral loads, wind uplift, deflection criteria, internal crane system requirements and maximum practical size of fabricated members. We work closely with our fabricators and erection crews to ensure we select the most efficient structural member sizes for each project. While Pre-Engineered Buildings can be adapted to suit a wide variety of structural applications, the greatest economy will be realized when utilizing standard details.
